The Cinque Terre, five towns, is a string of five fishing villages perched high on the Italian Riviera in the region Liguria. The breath-taking scenery and the quaint pastel-coloured buildings with the generally laid-back feeling that pervades the villages have made them one of Italy’s most popular destinations.

The area is a World Heritage Site and a National Park and can be enjoyed with our English-speaking driver from the port of La Spezia.
There are many different ways of visiting the Cinque Terre but after years of experience we have devised the following and flexible itinerary to get the most from a day trip by private minivan.

Enjoy with a local guide or on your own

From the port of La Spezia you will drive for about 40 minutes to Portovenere where you have time for a brief stop for a visit at the small village and meet an expert local guide* (option – not included – ask for a dedicated price), then the driver help you to purchase the hop-on / hop-off boat ticket (included) and have the chance to live the real Cinqueterre atmosphere admiring the villages by the sea! You could stop and visit Riomaggiore, Manarola and Vernazza (suggested for a lunch stop in a typical osteria-not included) and, in the afternoon, meet the driver in Monterosso. From there drive back to La Spezia port.

NOTE: Public boats in the Cinque Terre operate subject to weather conditions from April to about the 3rd week of October (please visit : https://www.cinqueterre.eu.com/en/boat-excursions) the *expert local guide is suggested in order to have assistance during the visit and the boat ride.

When, due to bad sea weather conditions, boats are not operative, transfer between towns will be by train (included).

Our private shore excursion / private excursion from La Spezia port to Cinqueterre is designed to help you to experience the best-known and most significant sights, but we are happy to tailor-make your itinerary to suit your own tastes and interests (within the limits of the time available, of course!).
